I'm into buildings, bridges, rivers, mountains etc rather than Art, so to keep this review simple I liked the building, a good mix of modern and old with plenty of information on the building itself and fantastic river views. I did wander round the art exhibition (duty bound) but as expected I didn't get anything from it - that's just me I'm afraid.

I went to the opening of an exhibition, Connections. It was very well organised. The space is lovely and felt suitable for all types of exhibitions. Speakers made sure that those of us that didn't fit in the main room were still able to hear the opening speech. The gallery is centrally situated, easy to find and lots of parking within walking distance.

Luan Art Gallery was fantastic! Our first time in Athlone and right by the Shannon River, the views are amazing and the exhibitions inside is just as impressive. There’s was so much to see with both local and international works, we left truly inspired. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable, and the gallery shop was great for picking up unique little gift and souvenirs to remember our time. If you’re in Athlone, definitely stop by Luan Art Gallery. It’s a real treasure and a must-visit!
