Áine O’Hara
Áine O’Hara’s practice centres disability, care, and collective resistance through interdisciplinary and socially engaged forms. Their work has toured nationally and internationally and has been presented across Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Most recently, Áine’s work was included in Still We Gather at Galway Arts Centre (2026) and shortlisted for the National Gallery of Ireland Portrait Prize 2025; the shortlisted work is currently on display at the National Gallery of Ireland.
In 2020, Áine O’Hara was the recipient of A4 Sounds’ We Only Want the Earth award, which culminated in the solo exhibition The Patient Will See You Now. They received the Arts Council Next Generation Award in 2022 and was awarded the Radical Spirit Fringe Festival Award for The Rest Rooms, a programme and space that foregrounded disabled joy and rest as resistance. Áine O’Hara is an Associate Artist with Dublin Fringe Festival and co-runs Chronic Collective with Tara Carroll.
