Beata Piekarska Daly

Beata Piekarska Daly is a Polish-born and an Irish-based visual artist, who is socially and educationally engaged through her multidisciplinary art practices (i.e. painting, environmental installation, video, photography and performance). 

 

The AT THE SHORE or ORB artwork was produced for Breaking Borders. It is a 3 min 11 sec video work that responds to current post-pandemic situation. The dominant idea is the anxiety of the uncertain times, caused by climate change, social disparities, and the ambulatory condition that is part of our lives today.

 

Beata is an intermedia artist; performer, painter, experimental video, creator off site responsive works, educator, and social scientist. Her works are based on research and intuitive response between science, tradition, and the impact on the environment. She was the founder and director of Abbey Studios, established in 2016. Daly’s exhibitions include Over Nature, a group touring exhibition across Ireland and with final part being in Luan Gallery, when the artist created a video performance Manus Lavo especially for the gallery. Her current exhibition PainThING (20/05-26/06) at Rathfarnham Castle Dublin is a show which addresses the complex question of our human condition and our need to construct (self) belief systems to help us find meaning in existence. Incorporating a cross-disciplinary collaboration with poetry, music, critical writing, and an artist designed book.
