Cait Farrell

Cait Farrell

My name is Cait Farrell from Ballymahon Co. Longford. In 2013 I graduated from G.M.I.T with a 2.1. Honours degree in Fine Art. In college I specialised in Ceramics. I also gained experience of print making, photography, textiles, sculpture, and painting. There I met Philip Treacy who complimented my artistic work, talent, and ability. After finishing college, I began working as a part time Milliner. I sold my headpieces to neighbours, family, and friends. I was on the verge of setting up my own successful business instead, in 2016 I decided to go back to college to become a post primary art teacher. Since then, I’ve been working as an art teacher in Ireland plus abroad. Working with every age group between the ages of 11 and 19. In school I learned the importance of using a variety of media and art terminology. Most recently I made a full collection of work mostly in 2D. I made prints using poster paint instead of ink. I’m inspired by the theme of identity. In the future I would love to work for brands either in marketing, advertising, or coming up with design ideas such as slogans and captions for Instagram. I hope to have my own exhibition of work in the midlands alongside other inspiring artists. It would be a dream of mine to come true. I also hope to one day open my own clothes shop in either Ireland or the UK as fashion is another passion of mine. Thank you for taking the time to read my artist statement. If you require any other information about my work, please feel free to contact me.
