Derick Smith is an artist working primarily through the medium of paint and sculpture. His work has been included in numerous group exhibitions globally from 2005 to present with solo shows in New York (2009) Dublin (2015, 2017), Munich (2017), Athlone (2022), and Meath (2023) Pieces are included in the Irish state art collection and in private collections in France, Germany, Japan, the United States. Smith has received various awards and residencies throughout his career. The Soul of Matter was a new body of work represents a catharsis for the artist who worked with great dedication over the last few years on developing this current body of work.
