Eimear Walshe

Eimear Walshe (b. 1992, they/them) is an artist from Longford working between Limerick City and Roscommon. They represented Ireland at the 60th Venice Biennale. Their work traces the legacy of late 19th century land contestation in Ireland through private property, sexual conservatism, and the built environment. Walshe’s first UK solo exhibition MIXED MESSAGES FROM THE IRISH REPUBLIC opened Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff in February 2025. Recent exhibitions with EVA International, Van Abbemuseum, the National Sculpture Factory, and Temple Bar Gallery and Studios. Their work is in the collections of the Arts Council and the Irish Museum of Modern Art. They travel widely across the island of Ireland, screening, reading, and performing their work.
