Mary Ruth Walsh
Mary Ruth Walsh is a graduate of Goldsmiths, University of London, and the National College of Art and Design, Dublin. Mary Ruth has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions including the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA, IE), Hugh Lane Gallery (IE), Grölle Pass Projects (DE), Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA, IE), Highlanes Gallery (IE), Limerick City Gallery of Art (IE), Oonagh Young Gallery (IE), Das Esszimmer (DE), FRISE Hamburg (DE), Parlour (US), Wexford Arts Centre (IE), Galway Arts Centre (IE), Cross Gallery (IE), CUBEOpen (UK), Goethe Centre (IE), and SCOPE Miami (US).
Working across drawing, sculpture, and installation, Walsh re-imagines architecture through provisional and tactile means, operating between what is visible and what remains unseen. Her practice reflects a sustained engagement with shelter, light, and structure across both the built and natural worlds. Moving between these realms, at times at a microscopic scale where material meets memory, her work suggests that materials are never neutral but carry embedded histories and associations.
